Swindlers' Cove, Manhattan

Back to Map

This is a little beach at Sherman Creek on the Harlem River, at the east end of Dyckman Street. Out in front floats the Peter Jay Sharp boathouse, built by Bette Midler's group, the New York Restoration Project, at a price that is said to have exceeded $1 million. As beaches go, it's a bit on the muddy side, especially at low tide. But it offers access to a nice new park with interesting gardens and¡Xa first for Manhattan' restored wetlands.
